MIND & BODY:
Before Coubertin and the modern Olympic Games, care was taken to separate the body from the mind. Nowadays we understand that one cannot exist without the other.
Choosing the Paris 17 GYM & YOGA yoga studio, rather than any other establishment, means choosing to enrich yourself with an understanding of your body and yourself through the connection of mind and body.
Taking a break and focusing on self-care, listening to your body, are principles borrowed from yoga and personal development. At GYM & YOGA, well-being is at the heart of our work, just as important as muscle strengthening. Our teaching has a profound impact on both the physical and mental levels.
The relaxation techniques practiced at GYM & YOGA, a yoga studio in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, are introduced gradually, in proportion to the physical exercises.
Relaxation remains a crucial element in the pursuit of well-being. Letting go of obsessive thoughts and freeing oneself from worries through concentration and relaxation leads to a noticeable release of muscular tension and a heightened sense of self-awareness. These small moments of relaxation, which may seem insignificant, become habits that, once established, are actually key steps towards inner peace.
Beyond mental relaxation, relaxation also has physiological benefits . Like the practice of combining different disciplines, the technique used at the Paris 17 GYM & YOGA studio allows you to connect your mind and body.
Indeed, back pain or any other physical pain we may experience is very often caused by poor posture, mental tension, or even stress.
By learning to focus and relax , you will learn to release physical and mental tension and significantly relieve back pain.
Furthermore, activating and engaging the muscles helps to release and stretch muscle contractions.
Focus on your breathing, and you will appreciate the calmness of your mind and reduce your stress.
Concentrating on the execution of the movements allows you to focus on the intention of the exercise. The work will be more effective, and the results faster.
At GYM & YOGA, a yoga studio in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, sessions take place in a calm , music-free environment bathed in natural light.
During each lesson, students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and accept their physical limitations. This relaxation brings serenity to the mind, releases tension in the body, and helps solidify the benefits of physical activity in a lasting way.
The experience at GYM & YOGA, a yoga studio in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, is a group experience.
Instructors welcome you in small groups so that each student has ample space for their individual practice. Class sizes are regulated to avoid overcrowding and ensure students have enough room to move freely.
The learner is invited to turn inward and focus in order to strengthen their personal well-being. Slowing the flow of thoughts and calming the heart rate releases productive energy.
Refocusing and concentrating attention on needs and intentions allows for personal growth .
Consistency and regularity in practice are key to achieving a healthier and more harmonious life. Repeated effort and discipline allow the body to absorb the benefits of the movements and maintain lasting well-being.
The efforts, which may seem tedious, will soon be crowned with success as the results become apparent.

Conceived as a cohesive whole , GYM & YOGA lessons are designed as sequences and repetitions of movements.
Classes are always structured in three parts, carefully planned to allow students to train, regain physical mobility, and achieve mental serenity.
The first part awakens and then engages the body through dynamic, standing exercises. Lunges, knee bends, and wall sits are taught repeatedly to challenge the body and engage the deep muscle chains.
The second part generally takes place on mats and draws inspiration from a variety of movements from both yoga and strength training.
These exercises are designed to deeply strengthen and tone the body. To conclude each
session, a relaxation period is offered.
During this time, students are encouraged to release tension in their bodies and minds to find calm and serenity. Introspection and letting go are the keys to well-being.
